I have a 3 year old Cockapoo, and a 7 month old baby. MY cockapoo consistently runs from the baby, and won't allow my daughter to touch, go near her.
At times my dog will go up, sniff, lick, but it's extremely rare.
I am not worried my dog will bite her or attack, but I am curious as to what I can do to train my cockapoo, to actually want to be around the baby.
My cockapoo got the stubborn side of the cocker, and poodle, which makes the dog want to be the alpha in all situations and I can sense the tension when she isn't.
Any ideas, or advise would be great. I am about to find a in home trainer, to see if they can help.

I hav the same problem! 3 year old cockatoo with 10 month old twins. And the dog growls at them anytime the go near him. Gets up and runs away whenever they get too close. He is protective of them but doesn't want to be near them. Did it ever get better for you?
