Hello everyone - I am Mary or "dukesmom" who has a lovely 15 month old Cockapoo named Duke. He has never been to a kennel for boarding. Whenever we are away (usually for the day) a very nice young lady named Shelli takes care of Duke. However, I felt like boarding Duke in preparation of our vacation next year. I have scheduled a "trial" boarding in June to see how he likes it. The kennel will have playgroups for him on both days of the weekend and he will have treats and they will walk him twice a day. Also, his BFF Callie (a labradoodle of the same age) will also be boarded at the same time since her "parents" will be attending a wedding out of town. Callie and Duke grew up together, and they also attended puppy school together, plus they played together at the playgroups and at playdates. So my mind is now playing tricks and making me think I ought not to board Duke despite the pluses that I mentioned. I just don't know if he will like it, if he perhaps might not eat or will miss me. He is very sweet natured and I just do not wish to give him a negative experience if at all possible. Callie has been boarded before and her Mom says that Callie is fine with it. Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
