This is my first time on this site and I am at my wits end on helping my 1 yr old female Cockapoo from scratching herself to death. I thought I was being wise by preparing her meals myself that consist of natural organic chicken, quinoa, rice, spinach and a touch of coconut and extra virgin olive oil. She has ate that twice a day since she was able to eat regular food. She also gets the occasional peanut butter treat and a chicken flavored treat. For the past two weeks she has been scratching herself to death. I have chose to do everything holistic for her so I do not give her flea meds or vaccine boosters. I avoid going to the vet because iU end up paying 300 dollars or more and he tries to give her meds that never even work and so I am trying to find a holistic approach at remedying this. I spay her with 50/50 organic apple cider vinegar and filtered water for fleas and ticks every few days. I can't understand why she suddenly is being so itchy. I have checked her skin and there is no bugs and never has been. She has no skin irritation either. She bites her hind legs and scratches her sides constantly. Is there a good quality dry dog food I can gradually ditch her to for finicky eaters? She is very finicky because I've tried new things with her and she just turns her nose up. Now she doesn't even want her regular food. I also have always gave her a multi- vitamin that is liver flavored because I'm scared to death that she's not getting all of the vitamins and nutrients she needs on a daily bases. Please help me choose the right food and vitamins and minerals to get her back in balance. I hate that I can't help her. There is so many different opinions on this and I don't know what to choose for her. I would love to get anyone's advice on making her better and healthy! Thanks so much in advance.
