My cockapoo, Donovan, will be 14 in April. He was diagnosed with severe heart disease in December. He is currently on medications to help him. I am currently thinking of taking him to France to have a Japanese doctor perform open heart surgery on him to repair his heart valves. Any info that anyone has on heart disease and cockapoos and how long they can live just on the meds would be great. This is a tough decision for me, I don't want to put him through the surgery at his age, but I also can't bear the thought of losing him! I also don't want to to see him suffer with his breathing from the heart disease if he doesn't get the surgery. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
